Let me cast your mind back to ancient Egypt. The Gods roamed the earth, Pharaohs ruled the lands and the mighty pyramids were erected, and still stand tall to this day!
All of that was accomplished while wearing flip flops!
Made primarily from papyrus and palm leaves our mighty ancestors wore these comfortable, yet stylish, footwear for everything and its design is not dissimilar to our modern interpretation.
Today's design is very simple, consisting of a rubber sole and two straps running, in a Y shape, from the space between the big toe and the one beside it to the sides of the foot.
In the 1950s there was a great flip flop boom; they were bright, colorful and convenient. Being sold mostly in beach stores and marketed as summer shoes.
However, we here at FlipFlopStation believe, like our Egyptian predecessors, that they don't need to be restricted to the sand. That is why we have a wide range of design, so whether your working at home, walking your dog or you want to give your feet a rest, you'll always have some great footwear!
